¿Who is IECAFE – Instituto Español de Café?
Have you ever had a coffee leaving a bad flavor in your mouth? Have you ever had the idea to give back a coffee because it was cold, burned.. really bad? What is a “Barista”? Do you know coffee can even taste like chocolate, fruits - peach, lemon, orange, etc? Have you ever found somebody able to give you an answer to these and many other questions?
IECAFE – Instituto Español de Cafe - training centre and consultancy specialized in courses, questions and all topics related to coffee world. We have courses for professionals – roasters, baristas, coffee shops, restaurants and also for coffee lovers, consumers, buyers. We love to prepare coffee, to cup, talk but above all teach and learn about this great product, so unknown to many of us. IECAFE was born thanks to the aim and the dream to appraise and promote good coffee. We cooperate with producers all around the world and together we want to develop sustainable production and improve coffee quality.
Objectives
Objective of our courses - develop and promote knowledge about the coffee chain and its preparation to get it appraised in the way it deserves.
- Offer training at high level and obtain high quality products
- Promote knowledge and coffees with denomination of origin and from sustainable fincas
- Push forward the technical criteria used by international organizations for the quality classification of coffees
- Put at the disposal of professionals’ quality controls, blends of high quality coffees compared to commercial coffees.
Training and Courses
Course will be held in our totally equipped training centre or on request in the client facilities. We offer different courses, to learn more about it just click on the category COURSES. Our trainers are duly qualified and well known at international level thanks to their participation at several events related to coffee world - courses, talks, speeches, fairs, championships, judges, members of international committees and official members of SCAE -– Specialty Coffee Association of Europe. SCAE – Specialty Coffee Association of Europe
¿Who or what is SCAE? – Specialty Coffee Association of Europe. It’s an association – headquarters in London – promoting quality of coffees and consumption of specialty coffees. Present in more than 70 countries all around the world and organizers of the World Championships – Barista, Latte, Cup Tasters and Coffee in Good Spirits. SCAE collaborates with governments and international organizations promoting quality coffee, with a wide educational program covering all aspects of specialty coffee, from roasting through to running a cafeteria.
